Learner Responsibilities

Successful Gies Online learners will:

  • Adhere to Gies Digital Citizenship, Gies Honor Code, University of Illinois Student Code, and Graduate College requirements.
  • Uphold the values of integrity, respect, and inclusivity that define the Gies Business community.
  • Understand and follow the policies and procedures outlined by the Graduate College, Gies College of Business, and their program.
  • Maintain high academic and professional standards.
  • Communicate proactively with instructors, specialists and program staff.

The success of a learner’s program depends on active engagement with coursework, collaboration with peers, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Required Trainings

All graduate students at the University of Illinois are required to complete two online training programs: Mental Health Awareness and Sexual Assault Prevention trainings. Please review the Graduate Student Checklist for access to these trainings, as well as other helpful onboarding steps.

All Illinois students are expected to adhere to the Student Code while enrolled in any Gies Online program course or experience (immersions, events, etc.).
