Networking Opportunities
Getting a degree online doesn't mean getting a degree alone. Gies Online Programs provide many opportunities to meet and collaborate with others in your program. Accent your experience by making professional connections through the following events and activities.
iConverge
iConverge is our annual on-campus networking and professional development event. It is a chance for students to see familiar friends, make new ones and develop professional relationships outside the classroom. Attendees can participate in thought-provoking talks and panel discussions as well as live lectures offered by some of the faculty. Held in Urbana-Champaign each September, students are also able to connect to the greater Illinois family, attend an Illini Football game, and tour campus.
Workplace
Workplace is for fully admitted, degree seeking students. Students who are eligible will receive an automatic email to join. This internal networking platform allows you to connect with current and former students. Check out our Google Drive File on how to use/navigate Workplace.
If you are a nondegree student, there is a Facebook page that has been created for you to interact with your peers. If you later apply and are admitted to your program as a degree-seeking student, you will then be granted access to Workplace.
