Tuition and Fees

Our online graduate programs deliver exceptional value and we are excited to share both the current and upcoming tuition rates for our programs. Below is a breakdown of the tuition* for our online programs, organized into Management Tuition and Specialized Tuition. 

The online graduate programs follow a cost-recovery and self-supporting structure. Students in such programs are not eligible for tuition and fee waivers except for statutory waivers. Additional costs for case packets and participation in immersion, alumni, and networking events may also apply.

Management Tuition (iMBA, iMSM, and Management Certificates)

The iMBA, iMSM, and Management Certificates share the same tuition structure, providing a high-quality education in business management. The additional per credit hour student fee is included in the following estimated tuition expenses. 

2024 - 2025 Academic Year 

iMBA Total Tuition and Fees: $24,984 

When you register and take an iMBA course for the Fall 2024 - Summer 2025 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $347 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,388 and a 2-credit hour course $694. 

iMSM Total Tuition and Fees: $12,492 

When you register and take an iMSM course for the Fall 2024 - Summer 2025 Academic  Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $347 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,388and a 2-credit hour course $694. 

Management Graduate Certificate Total Tuition and Fees: $4,164 

When you register and take a management Certificate course for the Fall 2024 - Summer 2025 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $347 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,388 and a 2-credit hour course $694. 

 

2025 - 2026 Academic Year 

iMBA Total Tuition and Fees: $26,136 

When you register and take an iMBA course for the Fall 2025 - Summer 2026 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $363 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,452 and a 2-credit hour course $726. 

iMSM Total Tuition and Fees: $13,068 

When you register and take an iMSM course for the Fall 2025 - Summer 2026 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $363 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,452 and a 2-credit hour course $726. 

Management Graduate Certificate Total Tuition and Fees: $4,356 

When you register and take a management Certificate course for the Fall 2025 - Summer 2026 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $347 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour course $1,452 and a 2-credit hour course $726. 

Specialized Tuition (iMSA and Accountancy Certificates)

The iMSA program and Accountancy Certificates have a unique tuition structure due to its specialized focus on accounting and related fields. The additional per credit hour fee is included in the following estimated tuition expenses.  

2024 – 2025 Academic Year 

iMSA Total Tuition and Fees: $21,492 - $27,200* 

When you register and take a specific iMSA accounting course for the Fall 2024 – Summer 2025 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $850 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour accounting course $3,400 and a 2-credit hour accounting course $1,700. Tuition for most University of Illinois non-accounting elective courses will be $347 per credit hour, making a 4-credit hour course $1,388 and a 2-credit hour course $694. 

Accountancy Graduate Certificate Total Tuition and Fees: $6,176 - $10,200* 

When you register and take a specific iMSA accounting course for the Fall 2024 – Summer 2025 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $850 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour accounting course $3,400 and a 2-credit hour accounting course $1,700. Tuition for most University of Illinois non-accounting elective courses will be $347 per credit hour, making a 4-credit hour course $1,388 and a 2-credit hour course $694. 

 

2025 – 2026 Academic Year 

iMSA Total Tuition and Fees: $21,916 - $28,096*

When you register and take a specific iMSA accounting course for the Fall 2025 – Summer 2026 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $878 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour accounting course $3,512 and a 2-credit hour accounting course $1,756. Tuition for most University of Illinois non-accounting elective courses will be $363 per credit hour, making a 4-credit hour course $1,452 and a 2-credit hour course $726. 

Accountancy Graduate Certificate Total Tuition and Fees: $6,416 - $10,536* 

When you register and take a specific iMSA accounting course for the Fall 2025 – Summer 2026 Academic Year, you will pay University of Illinois tuition and fees of $878 per credit hour. This would make a 4-credit hour accounting course $3,512 and a 2-credit hour accounting course $1,756. Tuition for most University of Illinois non-accounting elective courses will be $363 per credit hour, making a 4-credit hour course $1,452 and a 2-credit hour course $726.

Additional Fees for All Online Programs

 

All online graduate programs, including the iMBA, iMSM, iMSA, and Graduate Certificates are subject to the following fees: 

Student Fee:

  • Academic Year 2025 - 2026: $3 per credit hour (this is included in the above tuition estimates).

This student fee provides access to:

  • University Library services, including online articles and databases.
  • The Office of the Dean of Students, which ensures the success and well-being of all students.
  • The University Counseling Center, offering the Telus Health Student Support app (not direct counseling for online learners).

Anticipated increase to $4 per credit hour starting in Fall 2026.

 

View Transactions and Make a Payment

  • Log into Student Self-Service.
  • Click "UI Pay" under the University Bursar section. 
  • Select "View and Pay Accounts." 

Once a month, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign sends a reminder email to enrolled students prompting them to view their student account for recent activity and to pay any amount due by the due date.

Sponsor (Third-Party) Billing 

For students whose tuition may be paid by a sponsor organization, please visit Sponsor (Third Party) Billing for more information. If you need itemized bills used for reimbursements, please log into Student Self-Service and View Account (see instructions above). Financial Aid

Financial aid is only available to domestic degree-seeking students. In order to qualify for federal aid as an online student, you must be enrolled in 8 credits per semester. Please refer to the Office of Student Financial Aid for more information.

Billing Statements

The University of Illinois no longer mails billing statements to registered students. Bills are sent to the student’s @illinois.edu email account directly. Once a month, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign sends a reminder email to enrolled students prompting them to view their student account for recent activity and to pay any amount due by the due date.

Information on textbooks and other required course materials is communicated in your course syllabus.

Tuition and Fees Common Questions 

When is my tuition bill due?
  • Spring tuition is due February 28*.
  • Summer tuition is due June 28*.
  • Fall tuition is due September 28*.

Even if you register for summer and fall together, fall tuition will not post to your account until early fall. For more information, you can visit University Bursar.

When will my deposit be applied to my account?

Your deposit will be applied several weeks into your term of admission. This is done to ensure that students have enrolled and stayed in courses.

I have questions about my bill/student account. Who should I contact?

Any questions about billing, payment plans, or your student account should be directed to the University Bursar

I need a letter for tuition reimbursement from my employer. How can I get one?

To request a program letter, please fill out the Program Letter Request form available on the admitted students page. Please be sure to provide all necessary information. Requests will be completed in the order they are received.

How do I get an itemized billing statement?

Typically students can download a pdf of their billing statements in QuikPay. This statement does not provide course information; if this is needed, students can either request a program letter or an official transcript. If your employer requires a stamped copy, please email usfscohelp@uillinois.edu, and the customer service team can provide one. The stamped copy will contain the same information as is available in QuikPay.
