Gies Online Graduate Programs Handbook
This handbook provides an overview of key information and resources as well as relevant campus and college-level policies and procedures for graduate learners enrolled in online graduate-level programs at Gies College of Business. This version of the handbook is effective for the 2026 - 2027 academic year but is subject to change.
The Graduate College at the University of Illinois establishes campus academic and administrative policies and requirements governing graduate education at the University of Illinois. These policies and procedures are detailed in the Graduate College Handbook, though many are referenced throughout this document. In addition, colleges and individual academic departments may implement additional policies specific to graduate learners enrolled in their units.
Learners are responsible for knowing and abiding by all policies set forth by the University of Illinois, Graduate College, Gies Business, and their individual program.

About the Graduate College
The Graduate College at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign provides oversight over all graduate programs in more than 100 disciplinary areas. The Graduate College awards degrees and Graduate Certificates to all graduate students. All graduate students must follow Graduate College policies in addition to those set by the Gies College of Business. While the Graduate College may set a policy applicable to all graduate students, policies set by the Gies College of Business may have additional requirements and may override those set by the Graduate College.
