iMBA student Chris Moriarity turns a negative into a positive with new nonprofit

Jul 10, 2018, 04:26 by Gies College of Business

iMBA student Chris Moriarty and his wife, Laura, recently acted upon their inspiration when they created a nonprofit called the Million Waves Project.

MillionWaves2

Their effort takes littered plastics from the beaches for use in the creation of prosthetics. Living on the northwest coast – in Anacortes, WA – the husband and wife duo saw a need and wanted to motivate others to act. Featured on KING-TV in Seattle, Chris noted that “the beautiful thing is, anyone can do this. We can all do our part.”
