Graduation

Gies College of Business grants degrees three times a year -- in May, August, and December. You need to submit an application for graduation in your final term in order to place your name on the degree list and receive your diploma.

Three Gies Accounting alumni win Elijah Watt Sells Award

Please join us in congratulating the following Gies Business alumni as recipients of the prestigious Elijah Watt Sells Award given by the American Institute of CPAS (AICPA). The 2017 awards were given to 58 CPA candidates (out of 95,858 total candidates) who obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the CPA Examination. This recognition is a testament to our outstanding Accounting students, as well as our commitment to rigor and deep technical knowledge in the curriculum. 2017 BS graduate Nicholas Nikolov, a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS of Accountancy, is employed with Deloitte and Touche in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 2017 MSA graduate Yueyu Li, a graduate of Renmin University of China with a BS and MS from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is employed with the Lenovo Group in Beijing, China. 2017 MAS graduate Marshal Herrmann, a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS and MS in Accountancy, is employed with KPMG in Chicago, Illinois.
