Business Majors Name Favorite Professors

Feb 23, 2016, 03:11 by Gies College of Business
Top business majors named their favorite professors in an article in Poets and Quants.   Monica Chen (2015 Lincoln Laureate) named Professor Laura Wang as her favorite professor.  “My favorite professor is Laura Wang, who teaches Accounting Control Systems. Right away, you can tell that she knows what she’s talking about. She is a fantastic professor, and I can actually understand how she breaks down a problem to explain it piece-by-piece. She also has experience working in a large public accounting firm, so she will let us know how what we learn can be applied in real life. I have a lot of respect for her as a person and as a professor.”  Read more > Alison McAuliffe named Jim Bodtke as her favorite professor.  “Jim Bodtke, Accy 451, is my favorite professor because his motives and expectations for teaching align with what I expect out of a professor. Although the course has lots of depth and spans across lots of taxes on corporations and partnerships, he is able to still make himself available to his students to ensure clarity. He also takes an interest in his students’ personal life and what their career goals and plans are.”  Read more >
