Graduation

Gies College of Business grants degrees three times a year -- in May, August, and December. You need to submit an application for graduation in your final term in order to place your name on the degree list and receive your diploma.

IBC student team redesigns Cannabis DEI dashboard, unlocking deeper insights

Gies professor Justin Leiby is overseeing the project, working with IBC students to redesign a dashboard to make it easier to analyze complex information related to diversity, equity and inclusion and social justice regulatory policies.

Elliott named 11th dean of Gies College of Business

Dr. W. Brooke Elliott has been selected as dean of Gies College of Business and the Josef and Margot Lakonishok Professor in Business, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.

Ahsen wins Young Researcher Award for blending business, tech to improve mammogram screenings

Professor Eren Ahsen’s research fuses the power of business, healthcare, and technology to develop applications that alleviate patient anxiety during mammograms and address disparities in access to these screenings.

Gies Business launches Derivatives and Trading Academy

Starting this fall, a cohort of 34 students selected for this academy will begin taking its three core courses. Future students will apply to join the academy during their sophomore year.

A partnership between Gies Business and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, this new building will focus on learners and on supporting their growth into purposeful leaders. Every aspect of this building has been intentionally developed to help rethink business education:

Collaboration spaces to encourage interaction and innovation among faculty and learners
Flexible classrooms and the latest technology to enhance engagement and promote inclusion of all voices
Extensive online teaching studios to reach learners around the world and provide them with opportunities for excellence and career advancement

This groundbreaking will also honor the impact of the many donors who are leading the way in our goal to raise over $50 million toward this building project. Lives will be positively changed because of the generosity of these donors. Learn more about this exciting new project!
