Gies College of Business grants degrees three times a year -- in May, August, and December. You need to submit an application for graduation in your final term in order to place your name on the degree list and receive your diploma.

University of Illinois launches campuswide Entrepreneurship Minor

For the first time ever, students from across the University of Illinois can now pursue an entrepreneurship minor. Beyond core courses from both Gies Business and Grainger Engineering, the minor allows students to choose from more than 70 elective courses from within their respective colleges to round out the minor.

Testing the evidence: Revisiting research on soccer success

A Gies Business replication study confirms that coaches with multicultural backgrounds consistently outperform their peers in global soccer competitions. The findings held up across a much larger dataset, extended to women's football, and reinforced the value of multicultural leaders in diverse, international environments.

Gies Groundbreaking Ceremony

On April 14, please join Gies College of Business as we break ground on a new building that will equip the College and campus to continue transforming lives on a global scale.

A partnership between Gies Business and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, this new building will focus on learners and on supporting their growth into purposeful leaders. Every aspect of this building has been intentionally developed to help rethink business education: 

  • Collaboration spaces to encourage interaction and innovation among faculty and learners
  • Flexible classrooms and the latest technology to enhance engagement and promote inclusion of all voices
  • Extensive online teaching studios to reach learners around the world and provide them with opportunities for excellence and career advancement

This groundbreaking will also honor the impact of the many donors who are leading the way in our goal to raise over $50 million toward this building project. Lives will be positively changed because of the generosity of these donors. Learn more about this exciting new project!
