Gies College of Business grants degrees three times a year -- in May, August, and December. You need to submit an application for graduation in your final term in order to place your name on the degree list and receive your diploma.

Unnati Narang Wins 2026 AMA TechSIG Young Scholar Award

Mock Live Session: Understanding Valuation-Using Multiples to Define Assessment

Join us for this interactive class designed for prospective Gies graduate students in accountancy. Teaching Associate Professor of Accountancy, Gerlando Lima, will guide you through the fundamentals of forecasting and valuing companies. This session will introduce the basic concepts of valuation, with a special focus on using multiples as a key assessment method. Through practical examples and clear explanations, you'll gain the foundational knowledge needed to analyze businesses and make informed valuations.

Meet Professor Gerlando Lima, Teaching Associate Professor of Accountancy at Gies College of Business

Professor Gerlando Lima completed his bachelor's from Rio Grande do Norte Federal University in 2002 and then went on to earn a Masters and a PhD in Accountancy from University of Sao Paulo in 2007. He went on to complete a Post-Doc in Economics (Microeconomics) from University of Coimbra-Portugal, 2009. Professor Lima is currently a Teaching Associate Professor of Accountancy at the Gies College of Business. He also spends time working as a Member of the American Accounting Association Board of Directors, is a financial market consultant in Financial and international accounting and he currently teaches ACCY 500, 501, ACCY 503, and 517 in the iMSA, MSTM, MSA programs at Gies.
