Poets&Quants' list highlights exceptional undergraduate business students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Two Gies College of Business seniors, Brianna Norwood and Marco Aranda, have been recognized as part of the Poets&Quants’ 2025 Best & Brightest Business Majors. This prestigious list highlights exceptional undergraduate business students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Brianna Norwood, a supply chain management major with a minor in international business, has distinguished herself through her involvement in various extracurricular activities and leadership roles. The Dean’s List honoree is a project associate for multiple initiatives within Enactus, and the founder and president of the Supply Chain Academy. Norwood also gained valuable experience through internships at L’Oreal and Caterpillar.

Reflecting on her business school experience, Norwood shared a key lesson learned: “Now, I know there is nothing more rewarding than focusing on things that I am passionate about and aligning myself with opportunities that match my values”.

She is particularly proud of founding the Supply Chain Academy, saying that “the experience of building something from the ground up was invaluable. It taught me such important lessons about leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, all skills that have become foundational to my career and personal growth.”

Marco Aranda, majoring in marketing and information systems with a minor in The Hoeft Technology & Management Program, has also made a significant impact during his time at Gies. His extensive involvement includes leadership positions in the Phi Chi Theta Professional Business Fraternity and the American Marketing Association, as well as participation in the Illinois Consulting Academy. Aranda’s academic achievements are further underscored by his inclusion in the Gies Scholar Honors Cohort and the James Scholar Honors Program, along with multiple scholarships. He has also completed internships at Motorola Solutions, Bain & Company, and Kearney, where he will be working after graduation.

Aranda emphasized the importance of working with others in his business education: “One of my biggest takeaways from my business education is the importance of collaboration, as the contribution of various viewpoints is critical to reaching the best outcomes.”

Looking back at his undergraduate journey, Aranda highlighted the significance of building connections: “The relationships I’ve made are easily one of the most valuable parts of my experience that I am walking away with.”
