Graduation

Gies College of Business grants degrees three times a year -- in May, August, and December. You need to submit an application for graduation in your final term in order to place your name on the degree list and receive your diploma.

Assistant professor of finance Julia Fonseca, who was born and raised more than 5,000 miles away in Brazil, will walk the same campus streets as her parents, who both earned their PhDs at Illinois.

You might call it a cross-continental coincidence that Julia Fonseca is starting her professional career at Gies College of Business.
