Fred Gottheil was a professor of economics who taught in the College from 1959 until the department was moved to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2003 -- where he continued to teach until close to the end of his life. Cancer claimed him on April 17, 2016. He was a well respected economist and a beloved instructor who touched myriad students. Many will remember his joy of teaching, his love of students, and his sense of humor.
