Fall 2 Deadline to Register for Soft Launch Access
Fall 2 courses begin Wednesday, October 15. We recommend learners register for Fall 2 courses by Wednesday, October 1 to have access to courses by soft launch on Wednesday, October 8. Review the Fall 2025 course offerings schedule and register today. Registration will not be permitted after 11:59 pm CT on the first day of class. Courses may reach capacity before the registration deadline, so it is advised to register early.  If you need assistance with course selection or registration connect with a specialist.
Spring 1 2026 Course Support Applications Now Open
The Gies iDegrees course support application for the position of Synchronous Course Assistant (SCA) and Plagiarism Reviewer (PR) for Spring 1 2026 is available now. If you are interested in being considered for a position that will begin in Spring 1, please complete the Course Support Application no later than Thursday, October 9. The application will provide job descriptions for each role. Please read the requirements of each role to determine eligibility. 

Application Process:
The application process only requires submitting the Gies iDegrees Course Support Application form.
  • Even if you are currently working with us, you need to apply each term, so please make sure you apply before the deadline.
  • Those selected for a position will be notified via email.
  • Due to the volume of applications, late submissions will not be accepted.
  • If you work on a course, you will not be eligible to take it for credit as a student later.

Your Canvas Course Page Has a Time Limit
Canvas course pages are available for eight weeks from the end of the last course module, as stated in each course syllabus. After eight weeks from the end date, you will no longer have access to your course(s) dashboard in Canvas. Save any documents before that date for your personal archives. Your access to course content and videos in Coursera will not expire.

Fall 2025 Digital Specialization Certificate Release
Gies Online is pleased to celebrate learners achieving milestones in their specialization coursework. Approximately, four weeks after final grades are released at the end of the Fall 2025, eligible learners who have completed a specialization area in Fall 2025 will be a sent a digital specialization certificate via Accredible to their Illinois email addresses. 
FSC MBA Strategic Case Competition Opportunity
The 2025 MBA Strategic Case Competition hosted by Florida Southern College in partnership with this year's client, Bank of Central Florida, is open for registration until Monday, October 3. Teams will spend about one month working on a real industry problem, have two opportunities to meet with the client via conference calls, and then submit a 20-minute presentation. A Q&A with judges will follow, and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Space is limited to 15 teams, so if you’re planning to participate, now is a good time to pull your team together and get registered. The fee is $150 per team. You can register for the case competition here. If you have any questions about the case competition, contact kcaruthers2@flsouthern.edu

Gies Business is looking forward to providing an opportunity for our iDegree learners, alumni, and immersion participants in the Salt Lake City area to gather for a meet up! Join Assistant Professor Dawn Kink, Senior Lecturer Ron Guymon, Senior Assistant Director of Operations Rachel Ward, and your fellow learners for an evening of networking and connecting. The event will take place at Lake Effect (155 W 200 S Salt Lake City, UT 84101). Please register by Wednesday, October 8. Gies Business Accountancy Ranked #1 in Nation 
Gies College of Business’ undergraduate accounting program is ranked #1 in the nation, in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. This is the second strong accountancy ranking from US News, as Gies’ graduate accounting program is ranked #3 in the nation. These rankings are based on surveys of deans and senior faculty members of business programs around the country. Those voters nominate up to 15 of the best programs in a number of business specialty areas. Read more about the rankings here.
