Graduate College Professional Development Workshops
On behalf of the Graduate College, we are excited to share two upcoming virtual workshops that are available to our learners. Strategic Storytelling: Your Application Materials More than lists of accomplishments, your resume, CV, cover letter, and other application materials should make a clear, convincing case for why you are equipped to succeed in a role. In this workshop, the graduate college will discuss techniques for strategically crafting application materials that make that compelling argument. Topics will include deciding what to include in your application materials, how to write about your past experience in ways that catch the eye of readers, and tips for making your application materials send a cohesive message about your capabilities. The workshop will take place Friday, July 11 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm CT. No registration is required. Click here to join the Zoom session for the Application Materials Workshop. Strategic Storytelling: Your Online Presence Used effectively, online tools like LinkedIn, GitHub repositories, and personal websites can play an important role in promoting your availability to work, showcasing your skills and talents, and networking with other professionals. But it's often unclear how to best use these tools to tell your professional story. In this workshop, you will learn strategies for planning your online presence and for ensuring that it aligns with your career goals. The workshop will take place Friday, July 18 from 12:00 -1:00 pm CT. No registration is required. Click here to join the Zoom session for the Online Presence Workshop.
