Coursera MOOC Capstone Mailing Update
You may receive an email from Coursera about changes to the public MOOC capstones and Specialization Courses. As a Gies Graduate Programs learner in private MOOC sessions, you will not be impacted by this change and do not need to alter your courses or degree plan.

If you are pursuing the optional Coursera Specialization Certificate, you can switch to the new consolidated version from your learner dashboard. More details are available in this article, but please note, this certificate is optional and not required for your program. For questions, contact i-support@illinois.edu.

Update on Workplace Networking Platform
As you may know, Workplace will be shutting down on August 1, 2025. We understand this type of platform is extremely valuable for networking and for staying up to date on what’s happening with your peers and with Gies. We are working to determine a new platform and a phased transition plan. More information will be shared as we approach the closure of Workplace.

Daylight Savings
Daylight Saving Time begins in Illinois on Sunday, March 9. Clocks will move forward by one hour. If your region observes daylight savings, be sure to note the new time difference between your time zone and your assignment due dates which are in US Central Time.

Your Canvas Course Page Has a Time Limit
Canvas course pages are available for eight weeks from the end of the last course module, as stated in each course syllabus. After eight weeks from the end date, you will no longer have access to your course(s) dashboard in Canvas. Save any documents before that date for your personal archives. Your access to course content and videos in Coursera will not expire.
