Coursera MOOC Capstone Mailing | |
You may receive an email from Coursera about changes to the public MOOC capstones and Specialization Courses. As an Gies Graduate Programs learner in private MOOC sessions, you will not be impacted by this change and do not need to alter your courses or degree plan. If you are pursuing the optional Coursera Specialization Certificate, you can switch to the new consolidated version from your learner dashboard. Graduate College Career Workshop: Interviewing | |
The Graduate College is hosting a free workshop for learners interested in learning about the interview process for the industry and nonprofit sector. Attendees will learn the basics of the interview process, devise a strong strategy for answering questions, and hear some examples of questions to ask your interviewers. The session will take place Wednesday, October 23 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm CT. No registration is required. This session will be broadcast online at https://go.grad.illinois.edu/eventspace. | |

Can ChatGPT Give Good Financial Advice? | |
Generative AI has become a common tool in businesses and in schools — and the source of endless debate over whether it is indeed better or worse. AI chatbots like ChatGPT can write emails, restaurant reviews, computer code, and even answer research or trivia questions. Many go to ChatGPT for help with financial questions as well. Sterling Raskie, a senior finance lecturer at Gies, investigates whether Chat GPT's financial advice is any good. Read about his findings here. | |
