| Summer Registration Reminder |
Summer courses begin as early as May 15. Please register as soon as possible to ensure your progress through the program. We encourage you to connect with a Student and Academic Success Specialist if you'd like assistance with registration and course selection. We recommend learners register by 2 weeks prior to the start of courses to have access to courses by soft launch. Courses may reach capacity before the registration deadline, so it is advised to register early.

| Gies Professor Kim Mendoza Honored |
Kim Mendoza, assistant professor of accountancy and director of the University of Illinois-Deloitte Foundation Center for Business Analytics, has received the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) Outstanding Educator Award for 2024. This award honors those who have made considerable contributions to the education of accounting students through their leadership, teaching excellence, and active involvement in the accounting profession. ICPAS will formally present the award to Kim at the Leadership Recognition & Awards Dinner in Chicago on June 13, 2024. Congratulations, Professor Mendoza!

A new study co-written by professors of business administration at Illinois, Gopesh Anand and Ujjal Kumar Mukherjee, finds that organizational learning from failures can vary significantly based on two factors: the nature of the failures themselves, and the innovation capabilities of the firms involved. Gies Online offers immersion trips virtually and in person, domestically and globally, where students can learn about industries outside those in which they currently work and understand business and economics in our host countries. Join us to hear from Rachel Ward, Assistant Director of Operations, who oversees Gies immersion opportunities. We will also hear from a Student Ambassador who has completed an immersion trip and learn about the requirements, benefits, and successes they have experienced from micro- and global immersions.
