Soft Launch for Second 8-Week Courses

Second 8-week courses soft launch this week! Courses that begin on October 11 soft launch on Wednesday, October 4. Soft launch allows you to view your registered classes in both Canvas and Coursera a week ahead, giving you the chance to review your course syllabi and expectations before the official start date. Registering two weeks before courses begin ensures access to your course during the soft-launch period. Make note of your course start date as some start dates may vary.

Update Your Grouping Preference Form

At the beginning of each 8-week session, you should update your availability on the Grouping Preference Form. The grouping preference tool translates your time preferences into UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) so you can be grouped with individuals with similar availability around the globe. Take a moment today to finalize your availability!

Your Canvas Course Page Has a Time Limit

each course syllabus. After eight weeks from the end date, you will no longer have access to your course(s) dashboard in Canvas. Save any documents before that date for your personal archives. Your access to course content and videos in Coursera will not expire.

Ivy Exec Webinar: The Impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Online Learning Platforms

The rapid growth of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as ChatGPT has led to both excitement and skepticism among academics and industry. In this Webinar, Professor Unnati Narang will discuss how these technologies impact user-generated content (UGC) creation and engagement in online learning platforms. Using empirical evidence from ongoing field experiments, she will demonstrate the dual impact of AI; while encouraging the use of AI results in higher content creation, it results in 5-16% less engagement (i.e., fewer views and comments) relative to not using AI. She will also share the results of a practical, low-cost strategy managers can use to mitigate the negative effects on engagement.
