How to Register for the Program Capstone
If you are preparing to register for your last semester, then you will also want to register for the Program Capstone! The Program Capstone is offered every Spring, Summer and Fall semester. In order to register for the Program Capstone, you must apply to graduate in the semester you complete all of your degree requirements. You will need to wait a day or two for the system to process your application before registering for the Program Capstone. You can find the CRN for the Program Capstone on the iMBA Course Offerings page for the semester in which you plan on taking it. 
May 2023 iDegrees Convocation Registration Deadline is Friday
Gies College of Business will hold its May 2023 iDegrees Convocation Ceremony in-person on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 3:00 pm CT at the State Farm Center. The registration deadline is this Friday, April 28, 2023Register here. **Please note: May 2023 graduates can refer to the Gies Online Programs Graduation Course for detailed information regarding graduation. If you are unable to access the course, please contact i-support@illinois.edu.

iDegrees May Celebration and Open House
Prior to the in-person ceremony, graduates are welcome to attend an in-person Open House on May 12 from 11:30 am -1:00 pm CT at the iHotel and Conference Center in Heritage Hall. Your family and guests are welcome to attend. Register here.

iDegrees Virtual Convocation Ceremony
Gies College of Business will also be hosting a Virtual Convocation Ceremony on 
Saturday, May 13 at 8:30 am CT. Registration is not required for the virtual ceremony. Students and family members have their own access to the virtual ceremony shared below.

Summer Registration Reminder
Summer courses begin in a few weeks, make sure to give yourself enough time to register to ensure your spot in your courses. Your program’s course offerings page provides the course registration number (CRNs) for all Summer 2023 courses, and also includes live session times and course dates. Use enhanced registration and CRNs to register efficiently. Register by May 3 to have access to courses ahead of time during Soft Launch.

New research from Gies College of Business professor Olga Khessina finds that in taprooms, bars, and backyards across the country negative branding resonates more with consumers of craft beer than positive ones. Read the article here. 
Faculty Feature
Carlos Torelli
Professor Carlos Torelli is the Department Head and Professor of Business Administration and Anthony J Petullo Professor of Business Administration. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in 2007 and returned to Gies as a faculty member in 2016. He was invested as the Anthony J. Petullo Professor of Business Administration in 2002 in recognition of his leadership and expertise in consumer behavior and branding. He teaches graduate courses in consumer behavior, brand management, and global marketing.

iDegree Workshop: Immersion Opportunities within Gies Online

Gies Online offers Immersion trips virtually and in person, domestically and globally where students can learn about industries outside those in which they currently work and understand business and economics in our host countries. Join us to hear from Rachel Ward, Assistant Director of Operations, who oversees the immersion opportunities. We will also hear from a student ambassador who has completed an immersion trip and learn about the requirements, benefits, and successes they have experienced from micro and global immersions.

Convocation ceremonies are typically sponsored by a college, school, or department. Gies Business holds a May Convocation Ceremony for iDegrees graduates on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 3:00 pm CT in the State Farm Center. The registration deadline is April 28, 2023Register here.

The University Commencement Ceremony is the official University of Illinois academic ceremony at which the Chancellor presides and the President confers degrees. The university-wide commencement ceremony is on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 9:30 am CT in Memorial Stadium. Please note that student names are not read at the university-wide commencement ceremony.  Register here.

For August 2023 graduates to be awarded their degree, they will need to apply to graduate on student self-service by June 30. This application will not register you for the May or December 2023 convocation ceremony.
