| The University will be closed from December 23 to January 2 in observance of the winter holidays in the United States. Please refer to your course syllabi for assignment deadlines and live session schedules. University offices will be closed, and responses via email will be delayed during this time. We look forward to interacting with you on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 when the University reopens. |
| Advising Services Available through December 22 | | Our Student and Academic Success team will hold regular advising services through December 22. From December 23 to January 2, advising services will not be available due to the winter break closure. Advising Appointments and Express Advising will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 when the University reopens. We hope you have a restorative break from your studies and look forward to connecting with you in 2023! | | Fall 2022 Grades Released | | Final grades for the Fall 2022 Semester will be available to view in Student Self-Service on Friday, December 23. Be sure to save any materials from your course Canvas site, as these will close 8-weeks after the last module. | | Spring 2023 Soft Launch | | The first eight weeks of Spring 2023 courses will soft launch on Wednesday, January 4 in both Canvas and Coursera platforms for courses that begin on January 11. For learners who registered by the deadline, soft launch allows you to view your registered classes in both platforms, giving you the chance to review your course syllabi and expectations before the official start date. Registering after the deadline can result in a delay in accessing your courses on both platforms. This process may take up to two weeks and extensions will not be provided. |

| | Briam Hamm | Professor Brian Hamm is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Accountancy. He is a University of Illinois graduate who joined the faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2018. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting institutions and regulations and financial statement analysis. He has appeared on the list of teachers ranked as excellent by his students each year since joining Gies.
