Women's Coffee Chat |
Wednesday, August 24 | 11:00am CT | Register Here Join us to explore how women in business can achieve success in Gies Online! A recruitment leader here at Gies Online will be joined by some of the amazing women currently studying in one of our online programs. Bring your questions and a cup of coffee to sit back and discuss the experiences and challenges women face in business and how graduate education can help women succeed. |
Phishing Campaigns on the Rise |
As the semester kicks off, please be extra cautions about potential phishing/fake emails. We usually see a significant increase right when classes start, as attackers know that we're all in a whirlwind of activity and often too rushed to catch subtle hints that something isn't legitimate. The two most common types at the moment are:
- Messages impersonating VIPs like deans, directors, and department heads, asking for a favor
- Messages using Google or Box to send "shared document" notifications.
If you receive one of these messages, or anything pertaining to an email quota or similar that seems suspicious, you can forward the message as an attachment (right-click, forward-as-attachment) to: report-spam@illinois.edu. |
In Case You Missed It... |
May 2023 Convocation Date |
Gies College of Business will plan to hold its Spring Convocation ceremony for iDegrees students in-person at 3 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, in the State Farm Center. More information will be forthcoming, but you can start making plans to attend! |
Duo - Multi-Factor Authorization |
Between August 12 and 14, you will begin to see an updated login screen and secondary screen for Duo multi-factor authentication when you access certain web-protected resources. What action steps do I need to take?
- On the first screen, type in your entire university provided email address. You will no longer be able to enter only your NetID for access. Please update your password managers accordingly.
- The Duo screen will appear upon successful entry of your email address and password. This is a visual change that requires no new or different action on your part. Continue to login with Duo as you have in the past.
Who do I contact with questions? If you have any questions, please contact Technology Services at consult@illinois.edu or call 217-244-7000. |
