Information Session for iMSA - ACCY 517: Financial Statement Analysis and Valuation |
Nerissa Brown will host an info session for iMSA students to learn more about ACCY 517 - we will hold this session on Wednesday, December 15 at 12p CT. Students can register here.
Taught by Dr. Nerissa Brown, ACCY 517 will cover topics that allow you to develop the skills to analyze and interpret financial statements to make informed business and investment decisions. In addition, you will learn to use a variety of tools to breakdown financial reports into meaningful units to forecast financial statements and valuation of a firm. Dr. Brown is the Academic Director for the BSA/MAS Program, a PwC Faculty Fellow, and an Associate Professor for Accountancy and has been recognized as Excellent Teacher by her students for the last two years. |

Save Course Documents from Your Course Site |
Canvas course websites are available for 8 weeks from the end of the last course module, as stated in each course syllabus. After 8 weeks from the end date, you will no longer have access to your fall course website in Canvas. Save any documents before that date for your personal archives, including your individual and team assignments. |

May 2022 Convocation |
Gies College of Business May 2022 Convocation will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:30 pm CT in the State Farm Center. If you think you might attend, please reserve your hotel room now! Prior to the ceremony, we will host an Open House celebration around 10:30 am. More details will be forthcoming. |
Shift in Course Delivery Schedule |
Beginning Fall 2022, the order of two required core courses will change. ACCY 503: Managerial Accounting will be offered in Fall 2 (October) and Spring 2 (March). While ACCY 503 will be offered this summer (May 2022), this section will be limited to students graduating in Summer 2022 and PAT students. Other students should plan to take this in October 2022 or in future terms. ACCY 503 will be offered this January 2022. BADM 567: Process Management will be offered in Spring 1 (January) and Summer (May), starting Spring 2023. With the shift in delivery of these courses, BADM 567 will not be offered in Fall 2022. If you intend to graduate in Fall 2022, please ensure you register for BADM 567 this Spring 2022. |
Mergers and Acquisitions Delivery Schedule |
The Mergers and Acquisitions Focus Area Specialization will launch this March 2022 with FIN 572: Finance of Mergers and Acquisitions. Students are encouraged to complete this Focus Area in sequence. FIN 572 and ACCY 532 must be completed before Investment Banking Concepts; a formal pre-requisite will be enforced. If you are interested in completing this Focus Area during its initial launch, please plan to complete the courses during the following terms: FIN 572: Finance of Mergers and Acquisitions – March 2022 ACCY 532: Mergers and Acquisitions and Other Complex Transactions – May 2022 Investment Banking Concepts – August 2022
Following the initial launch, the Mergers and Acquisitions Focus Area will be delivered on the following schedule: FIN 572: Finance of Mergers and Acquisitions – August 2022 ACCY 532: Mergers and Acquisitions and Other Complex Transactions – October 2022 Investment Banking Concepts – January 2023 We encourage you to schedule an appointment with the Student & Academic Success team to review your degree plan and ensure you are on track for graduation. |
