Online Programs Announcements | | Transition to Canvas Learning Platform | The University of Illinois has adopted Canvas to replace Compass 2g as our learner platform. Many courses have already transitioned to Canvas, including almost all iMSA courses. Beginning in October, all iMBA and iMSM courses will transition to this learner platform, with the exception of the Program Capstone for iMBA.
To prepare you for this transition, you are encouraged to complete the Onboarding Course in Canvas. Retaking the Onboarding Course in Canvas is optional, however it will allow you to get to learn the new Canvas platform. Nerissa Brown, Associate Professor of Accountancy & Academic Director for the BSA/MAS Program in Accountancy Professor Brown has been an Associate Professor in Accountancy with Gies since 2018 and is currently a PricewaterhouseCoopers Faculty Fellow. She has an interest in teaching Financial Accounting and has made the list of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students for two years in a row.

Brooke Elliott, Associate Dean & EY Distinguished Professor in Accounting Professor Elliott is Associate Dean at Gies College of Business and has previously served as the Head of Accountancy and the Academic Director for Gies Undergraduate Programs. Professor Elliott has been teaching at the University of Illinois since 2003 and has a strong interest in teaching financial reporting and financial statement analysis.

Brian Hamm, Clinical Assistant Professor of Accountancy Professor Hamm has been teaching with Gies since 2018 and has made the list of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students for two years in a row. Prior to teaching at Gies, Professor Hamm served as the Chief Financial Officer at TruGreen and Energizer and has also served as the Vice President of Finance for Pepsi.
