Japan Virtual Immersion
Travel with us virtually to Japan for a 2-week capstone course starting October 9, 2024!
Are you curious about business norms across the globe? Are you eager to network and collaborate with graduate students from other countries? Are you interested in applying the skills you’ve gained through your Gies curriculum?
If you answered ‘yes, yes, yes’ – please travel with us virtually to Japan for a 2-week capstone course starting October 9!
The island country of Japan remains the third-largest economy and the fifth-leading exporter in the world. Long known for its advanced technological and manufacturing expertise, Japan has been the envy of many. Yet its rapidly aging population and declining productivity present new challenges. Join us for this virtual capstone to learn about how Japan now works to reinvent itself via focusing on its startup ecosystem, developing technological advancements, and venturing into new markets.
Japanese MBA students will join you in this virtual course which combines interactive activities, lectures and discussions with Japanese and Gies professors, and a team case challenge where you will work together to solve a real business problem facing a Japanese company.

Specialization Capstone Credit - iMBA
If successfully completed, the immersion can count as one of the two required specialization capstone courses in the iMBA program. However, learners cannot use the immersion for the program capstone. While learners can participate in more than one global immersion, only one will count as a specialization capstone course. Learners are welcome to participate in the immersion even if it does not count as a specialization capstone.
