Course Schedule Changes for Digital Marketing  
Starting in 2026, MBA 542 Digital Marketing Analytics and MBA 545 Marketing in Our New Digital World course schedules will shift. These courses are part of the Digital Marketing focus area and the elective path, so if you have chosen either of these options, please review the updates carefully to plan ahead.
  • MBA 542: Digital Marketing Analytics will move from its current summer offering in Spring 2 beginning in Spring 2026. The final summer offering will be in Summer 2025.
  • MBA 545: Marketing in Our New Digital World will shift from Spring 2 to the summer term starting in Summer 2026. Its final Spring 2 offering will be this Spring 2025.

Peer Tutoring Application Deadline Extended 
Gies Graduate Programs Online is launching a Peer Tutoring Pilot for the Spring 2 2025 session, supporting FIN 500. We are seeking dedicated Graduate Tutors to provide academic support and tutoring services to graduate learners enrolled in the course. The application deadline has been extended to Thursday, February 13 at 11:59 pm CT.  You can find a detailed description of this paid position here.  
Position Details: 
  • Role: Graduate Tutor 
  • Duration: March 1 - May 13, 2025 
  • Primary Responsibilities: 
    • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions via Zoom. 
    • Assist learners in understanding FIN 500 course materials. 
    • Help improve study skills and develop strategies for academic success.

Industry and Nonprofit Job Search: Resume and Cover Letter Workshop
The Graduate College is offering an online workshop for job searchers in the industry and nonprofit sector. In this workshop, you will learn basics about how to prepare and format your application materials and how to best integrate your skills and experience into each document, and tips for how to explain your graduate school experience to make a strong impression with employers. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 11 at 4:00 - 5:00 pm CT. No registration is required. Join online here.
 
Grad Student Day at Fighting Illini Women’s Basketball
Local online graduate learners, come cheer on the Fighting Illini women’s basketball team at their last home game! The game starts on Sunday, February 16 at 4:00 pm CT. Join this Graduate College sponsored event if you're a die-hard basketball fan or if this is your first Big 10 sporting event! There will be a graduate student section, and student tickets are FREE (bring your i-card). Non-students are welcome to join and should buy General Admission tickets ahead or at the door. Sign up here to let the Graduate College know you're coming!

The Student and Academic Success Specialists provide academic advising and support for all students in Gies Online Programs. Whether you need assistance with registration, course selections, dropping or withdrawing from classes, degree planning, or accessing resources available to you - our team is here to help! We offer 25 minute one-on-one Advising Appointments and 15 minute one-on-one Express Advising sessions (first-come, first-serve). You can also email i-support@illinois.edu  at any time, with any question. Gies Podcast: Alumnus Tony Petullo
In this episode of The Gies Download, Tim Sinclair talks with Tony Petullo, a 1961 graduate of Gies College of Business. After three years as a US Navy officer and five years with Mobil Corporation, Tony founded Olsten Staffing Services and found enormous success. Over the past four decades, Tony has given back to the University of Illinois in many impactful ways, including sizable donations, staff fellowships, and student scholarships. Gies Business Charting Course Through AI’s “Wild West” in Business Education
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries across the globe, and business education is no exception. W. Brooke Elliott, the Josef and Margot Lakonishok Professor in Business and Dean of Gies College of Business, recently shared her perspective on navigating this dynamic landscape at the 2025 AACSB Deans Conference.
