Fall 2 Courses Begin
Fall 2 courses begin this week on Wednesday, October 16. Please be sure to check your course start and end dates for the fall second eight week term as some course start dates may vary. Online Programs utilizes dual platforms with Canvas and Coursera. Make sure to access your course in both platforms to be successful.
 
Fall 2024 Digital Specialization Certificate Release
Gies Online is pleased to celebrate learners achieving milestones in their specialization coursework. Approximately, four weeks after final grades are released at the end of the Fall 2024 semester, eligible learners who have completed a specialization area in Fall 2024 will be a sent a digital specialization certificate via Accredible to their Illinois email addresses.  
 
Fall 2024 Drop and Withdrawal Refund Guides
For your convenience, the Office of the Registrar has created two course refund guides that outline the specific drop dates and withdrawal dates for each course. For courses listed as an iMB or ONL section, go to “non-standard courses” and search by course number. Please note that there are two separate refund guides for drops and withdrawals and you can refer to our Dropping Courses and Refunds page about the difference between a drop, withdrawal, and cancellation. As an additional resource, our event calendar posts the academic drop deadlines by course start date. 
Spring iDegrees Course Assistant Application is Due This Week
The application to become a Gies iDegrees Course Assistant for the first eight weeks of Spring 2025 is due this week. If you are interested in being considered for a position that will begin in January, please complete theCA application no later than 11:45 pm CT on October 16. Due to the volume of applications, late submissions will not be accepted. The CA assignments will be announced in mid-November.
Application Process:
  • The application process only requires submitting the application using the application link.
  • Even if you are currently working for us, you need to apply for each term, so please make sure you apply before the deadline.
  • ​​​Be careful with the course(s) you select. If you work on the course as a CA, you will not be eligible to take it for credit as a student later.
  • If you have any questions about the application process, please reach out to the Academic Support Group.
