Mike Yao | Mike Yao is a Professor of Digital Media and the Head of the Charles H. Sandage Department of Advertising in the College of Media. Professor Yao received his Ph.D. in Communications from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2006. Professor Yao joined the College of Media in 2015 and became an affiliated faculty member at Gies College of Business in 2017. His research focuses on digitally mediated social behavior and human-technology interaction. In the College of Media, he teaches courses in advertising technology, digital media, and brand management.
