Mindfulness Training Courses
The UIUC Psychology Department offers Mindfulness Training (MT) classes throughout the year. Various 8-week classes are offered with slight variations in training based on the book that accompanies each class. Find more information on Mindfulness Training course options here.

How to Check Your Registration Time Ticket
Did you know you can check your registration time ticket on the Student Portal? Log-in to the student portal home page. Select "profile" at the top and then scroll down to view your registration time ticket for Summer and Fall. 
Summer and Fall Registration 
Be sure to check your registration time ticket for the day and time you can begin registering for summer and fall courses. Our Summer and Fall course schedules have been updated and available on your program's course offerings page. Use the course registration numbers (CRNs) and enhanced registration for registration efficiency. You may register for Summer and Fall courses at the same time. We recommend registering early as certain courses may reach capacity. 

For Summer courses, make sure you register by May 3 to have access to courses during Soft Launch. Additionally, register by July 26 for Fall 1 and by September 27 for Fall 2 to have access to courses during Soft Launch.
 
How to Register for the Program Capstone
If you are preparing to register for your last semester, then you will also want to register for the Program Capstone! The program capstone is offered every Spring, Summer and Fall semester. In order to register for the Program Capstone, you must apply to graduate in the semester you complete all of your degree requirements. You will need to wait a day or two for the system to process your application before registering for the Program Capstone. You can find the CRN for the Program Capstone on the iMBA Course Offerings page for the semester in which you plan on taking it. 
 Fall Course Updates
BADM 567: Process Management Changing to Operations Management
Beginning Fall 2023, the title of BADM 567 will change from Process Management to Operations Management. While course objectives remain the same, this change will bring the title in line with subjects covered in the course. BADM 567: Operations Management will focus on conceptual foundations and fundamental analytical approaches for Operations Management.
Please note that if you are registering for BADM 567 this summer, you will register for the course under Process Management.
Rubric for MBA 591 changing to MBA 598
Beginning Fall 2023, the rubric for the Program Capstone will change from MBA 591 to MBA 598. Course objectives will remain the same. If you are registering for this course in Spring or Summer 2023, you will register for the course under MBA 591. If you are registering for MBA  598: Program Capstone, in Fall 2023, please use CRN 78465.
2023 Leighton Lecture Recording
The 2023 Leighton Lecture on Ethics and Leadership featured Sylvia Puente, President & CEO of the Latino Policy Forum. Puente spoke on “An Economic Powerhouse: Strengthening Leadership with the Latino/a/x Community. Find the recording here.
Faculty Feature
Ujjal Mukherjee
Professor Ujjal Mukherjee is an Associate Professor of Business Administration. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Minnesota in 2015 and joined the Gies faculty that same year. In recent years, he has worked with an interdisciplinary group of scholars to examine the transmission of COVID variants and the impact of rapid testing on university reopenings during the pandemic. His research also predicts failures of innovations-in-use and technology adoption and mediation in healthcare. Dr. Mukherjee teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in logistics management and supply chain analytics.

Brazil Immersion
July 29-August 5 | Register Here
We are very excited to be heading back to Brazil! Join us for our in-person immersion trip to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 29-August 5, 2023This 7-day course will be truly immersive, educational, and fun. An opportunity that combines academic activities with social, cultural and practical exercise, so each participant will have a chance to transform the theoretical and abstract into experiential learning – where Brazil becomes your classroom.  An overview of the itinerary is attached.
To secure your spot, please register and submit a $100 non-refundable deposit by completing this form  by Friday, April 14You will be notified of your acceptance by Friday, April 28. If demand exceeds capacity, we will give priority based on credits earned in the program. If you are not selected to participate, your deposit will be refunded. 
What costs are involved with this experience? The fee for this experience is $1,922, plus the cost of traveling to Brazil and obtaining a visa (if needed). The program fee covers hotel (double room), flight from SAO-RIO, some meals, transportation, and cultural activities. Please see draft itinerary for more details. A single room is available for an additional $463.00. 

Capstone Credit 
If successfully completed, the immersion can count for ONE of the two required specialization capstone courses. Students cannot use the immersion for the program capstone. Students can participate in more than one global immersion, however only one will count as a specialization capstone course. Students are welcome to participate in the immersion regardless if it counts as a specialization capstone
In Case You Missed It...
Changes to Elective Course Options 
Due to faculty availability, MBA 546 Global Business Horizons will not be offered this summer term, or subsequent semesters after. 
MBA 549: Multiculturalism in Management and the Marketplace will be offered in Fall 1, beginning this Fall 2023 semester. This is a new course in the Global Challenges in Business Specialization. This exciting new course will introduce you to the fundamentals of cross-cultural management by describing the impact of culture on interpersonal processes in organizations and introduce the foundations for dealing with multiculturalism in the marketplace.  If you were interested in taking MBA 546 as an elective course, you will need to select another elective course option.

New Building Will Be Named Steven S. Wymer Hall
The College’s new building will be named Steven S. Wymer Hall in recognition of a generous gift from alumnus Steven Wymer, pending Board of Trustees approval. Wymer is a 1985 Gies alumnus with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and he is a portfolio manager in the Equity and High-Income division at Fidelity Investments. Learn more
