Register for Second 8-week Courses by February 23
Did you know you can now register for your second 8-week courses? Please make sure that you check the website for details on course offerings and how to register for classes. If you have questions regarding registration, please visit us at Express Advising or email i-support@illinois.edu to quickly get answers to your questions! The deadline to register for second 8-week courses (starting March 16) is February 23.
 
Highlighted Second 8-Week Course Options

BADM 567: Process Management, taught byGopesh Anand Professor of Business Administration. This course is part of our Core 3: Value Chain Management sequence.  It is being offered in the second 8-weeks of Spring 2022 and then will not be offered again until January 2023. Students graduating this Fall should make sure they've completed the requirement or register for the upcoming course.

Available to iMBA, iMSA, and iMSM students.

BADM 589: Project Management, taught byFataneh Taghaboni-Dutta,Clinical Professor of Business Administration. Central to this course is developing your understanding and ability to manage the technical dimensions of needs analysis, work breakdown, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking and evaluation such that you can accomplish them while staying within the project's allocated time frame and cost.
Available to iMBA, iMSA, and iMSM students.
Nerissa Brown Quoted in Bloomberg Article
Nerissa Brown, Associate Professor of Accountancy and Academic Director for the BSA/MAS Program in Accountancy and PwC Faculty Fellow, was quoted in a January 25 Bloomberg article on the SEC’s objection to MicroStrategy’s use of non-GAAP adjustments to remove bitcoin impairment losses. The article is entitled “Size of MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin Bet Set Off SEC Accounting Alarm.” Congratulations, Nerissa!
iMBA Core Specialization Capstones
Are you ready to complete a core capstone in March? Make sure to register today to get a seat! In the Spring and Summer terms, all 4 core capstones are being offered. You must have completed all courses in the sequence to be eligible. Not sure if you're eligible? Drop into Express Advisingoffered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am - 12 pm and 1 - 3 pm CT, or emaili-support@illinois.edufor help.

Capstones offer the unique option to form your own groups of people. Information about grouping preference requests will be sent out to those registered students in the next couple weeks, so make sure to register today!
iDegrees Student Council
We are excited to welcome four new members to the iDegrees Student Council. The council consists of a group of Gies Online student leaders who are selected by the program through an application process. Previously only representing the iMBA program, the Student Council is now open to all iDegree students in an effort to reflect broader views. The Student Council works in close contact with program administration to build a strong network and support initiatives that advance Gies Online’s strategic priorities.

Save the date for a special virtual event exclusively for Gies Business MBA alumni and current iMBA students. There will also be networking opportunities for participants.
